In what may be one of the happiest events of my life, The Crystal Maze will be back in a format for\u00a0everyone<\/strong> to enjoy! At the moment there is a funding event on Indiegogo<\/a> with a rather easy target of \u00a3500,000 – at the moment of writing this, just 8 hours in from the midnight launch, it is over \u00a363,000 – so I doubt very much this won’t happen.<\/p>\n

Quoting from the site:<\/p>\n

You’ll get to play the maze just as contestants did on the original show – placing you at the centre of the action. What we really want, is for people to live the magic of the hit television programme for themselves.<\/p>\n

We will be lovingly recreating the famous set just as it was on the original show. All four famous zones will be present; Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic, not forgetting of course, The Crystal Dome!<\/p>\n

We are delighted to be announcing the return of none other than the legendary Maze Master himself, Richard O’Brien! Richard won’t be running around the maze himself, but he will be welcoming guests in time honoured fashion… to find out how, you’ll just have to come along and see!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yes, oh yes, Richard O’Brien will be involved in some fashion! The legend himself is endorsing this, presumably he’s going to record some videos to play to the teams and probably be there at the launch party – which reminds me, I need to go support that.
