Swedish fertility clinics are suffering a backlog due to demand from lesbian couples. As a result of the law change, waiting time has jumped from 3 to 18 months. Back on July 1st, 2005, female same-sex couples were granted the right to artificial insemination at Swedish hospitals. Before that, lesbians had to seek help abroad … Read More “Swedish Sperm Banks Running Dry Due to Lesbians” »

Ah…but can it play Crysis?
Ego-centric, Gaming

Yes, yes it can! And by that I mean my new Geforce GTX 260, new OTT MSI motherboard and new 42″ Viera Plasma TV can. I maxed out all the settings, put it on my TV and hit “Play” and it worked a charm, if not a little disorientating when the screen shakes and blurs. … Read More “Ah…but can it play Crysis?” »

Google Search – Dutch Penis?

Posted on October 1, 2009 By Wade No Comments on Google Search – Dutch Penis?
Random Stuff, SEO

In the latest of a string of weird keywords my site shows up for, “dutch penis” has to be the weirdest. I actually managed to rank 16th for this term! Not much else to say really, although if you were searching for dutch penis and have ended up here, take a look around and then … Read More “Google Search – Dutch Penis?” »

Starling Purée Anyone? Airplane hits a flock of birds

Posted on September 30, 2009 By Wade No Comments on Starling Purée Anyone? Airplane hits a flock of birds
Random Stuff

See those black bits scattered around this Boeing? It’s just part of a massive flock of starlings hitting its fuselage and engine as it was taking off at 200mph. About two hundred birds were sucked into the turbine. The photographer, Juergen Kienast,  said the sound of the engine as it sucked the birds was defeaning: … Read More “Starling Purée Anyone? PeerBlock 1.0 Released – Now with signed driver

Posted on September 29, 2009 By Wade 1 Comment on PeerBlock 1.0 Released – Now with signed driver
News, Software

PeerBlock was a “spin off” from PeerGuardian, a program that completely blocks access to certain IP addresses at the network level making it completely impossible to connect to them (or from people on those IP addresses to connect to you.) The reason I love this program so much is it blocks access to known spyware … Read More “PeerBlock 1.0 Released – Now with signed driver” »

Halloween – Monster Page of Projects

Posted on September 28, 2009 By Wade No Comments on Halloween – Monster Page of Projects
Random Stuff

It’s almost the end of September and so only a month to go until Halloween, that time of year where for a week kids want some nice treat like candy or are rude little gits and expect money – so they get the trick, permanent marker on the face. There’s a site available with links … Read More “Halloween – Monster Page of Projects” »

FFXIV – Final Fantasy 14 – TGS Trailer

Posted on September 25, 2009 By Wade No Comments on FFXIV – Final Fantasy 14 – TGS Trailer
Gaming, Software

While I never really got into WoW (I have played, I have characters, I rarely touch it) I do love FFXI and have played many many hours on that game – less now, it just feels dated and that can ruin a game for me. However, FFXIV is coming soon, sometime in 2010, and I … Read More “FFXIV – Final Fantasy 14 – TGS Trailer” »

Christmas Pudding 2009 – Home Made Recipe

Posted on September 25, 2009 By Wade No Comments on Christmas Pudding 2009 – Home Made Recipe
Food

Yes I know it’s only September but Christmas Puddings are best if they’re made early. The reason for this is you can “feed” the pudding alcohol for months so by Christmas it’s absolutely delicious and is the perfect excuse to get everyone drunk without anyone truly realising why they feel so tipsy. Nothing like months … Read More “Christmas Pudding 2009 – Home Made Recipe” »

Copenhagen User Experience

Software

I’m torn on this, it has some great ideas (updating interface with dynamic search – real time search Ben?) and it has some big failings (updating interface with resizing objects.)For example, the login screen, rarely seen but those little changes with the moving/scaling image is a great idea; the live search with an updating UI … Read More “Copenhagen User Experience” »

Feeling Better and Net Neutrality

Posted on September 24, 2009 By Wade No Comments on Feeling Better and Net Neutrality
Ego-centric, News

It’s been 5 days since I became ill and two days since I found out it was H1N1 and after taking tamiflu for the 3rd day now, I am feeling a lot better, it really clears up the symptoms very well; actually it just hides the symptoms like most over-the-counter cold/flu remedies but it’s stronger! … Read More “Feeling Better and Net Neutrality” »
